A 19-year-old was struck and killed by a pickup truck in Steuben County over the weekend.

State Police say it happened Saturday morning at around 11:30 when the unidentified victim entered Victory Highway in Erwin while riding an electric motorbike. Troopers say the 19-year-old failed to yield the right of way to the 2019 Dodge that was hauling a trailer and driving east at the time.

The victim was airlifted to Guthrie Corning Hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased. The driver of the pickup truck, 31-year-old Christopher Tyler, of Painted Post, was not injured.
