Wayne County supervisors have approved a $256.8 million budget for 2026, keeping the tax rate steady at $5.09 per thousand of assessed value.
The plan raises spending by 13 percent over last year, funding increases in health insurance, public safety, and equipment replacement. A one-time funding of $50,000 will be allocated to the Sodus Point Lighthouse Museum.
Supervisors also set a public hearing for Tuesday on salary increases for several elected and appointed officials, effective January 1.
