A Seneca Falls woman has been arrested following a child abuse investigation that began last month.
According to the Seneca Falls Police Department, 29-year-old Jocelyn Nichols was taken into custody on Tuesday at approximately 10:30 a.m. Nichols has been charged with second-degree assault, a felony, and endangering the welfare of a child, a misdemeanor.
Police say the charges stem from an investigation that began in April, and additional details about the incident were not released.
Nichols was transported to Seneca County CAP Court for arraignment, and authorities requested an order of protection for the victim.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
