A malfunctioning traffic signal, with all three lights illuminated, illustrates the type of problem Seneca Falls Police are warning residents about.

Motorists traveling through Seneca Falls may encounter delays due to a malfunctioning traffic signal at the intersection of Fall Street and Rumsey Street.

According to the Town of Seneca Falls Police Department, the signal is not cycling properly, creating traffic issues in the area. Officials said notifications have been made, and efforts are underway to correct the problem as quickly as possible.

Police are specifically advising drivers to avoid approaching the intersection from the Veterans Bridge direction if possible. The department said the signal is cycling too quickly for traffic coming off the bridge, resulting in significant backups.

Motorists are encouraged to use alternate routes and allow extra travel time until repairs are completed.
