With last week’s fire in Ovid devastating half a dozen businesses, the loss of the Big M grocery store has been especially impactful. Seneca County Chamber of Commerce President Jeff Shipley says he has spoken with the store’s owners, the Hermann brothers, about the possibility of rebuilding.

 

Shipley said the Chamber is collaborating with Seneca County, its Farm Bureau, and IDA to push for any rebuild that includes a grocery store, as Ovid has now become a food desert after last week’s fire.
