Wayne County Man Struck By Train

A Wayne County man is recovering at Strong Memorial Hospital after being struck by a train.

Police say John Hayslett laid down next to the railroad tracks near the intersection of State Route 88 and Welcher Road in Arcadia last night and was hit as he attempted to move away from an oncoming CSX train. Hayslett, who lives in Sodus, suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to Rochester by ambulance.

Police are still investigating.

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by CSX police, Wayne County Advanced Life Support, and Newark Ambulance.
