Waterloo Voters Select a New Mayor Today

Waterloo residents will elect a new mayor today.

Democrat Gina Suffredini and Republican Walter Bennett are seeking the mayor’s job.  Suffredini is retired from the Waterloo School District and has served as a village trustee and deputy mayor. Bennett is a technical business analyst for a multi-national software company and a political newcomer.

There are 2,843 registered voters in the village. Republicans outnumber Democrats by 267 registered voters. There are another 760 voters in the Conservative and Working Families Parties, or who are not enrolled in any party.

The new mayor takes over on June 1st.

Voting is at the Community Center from noon to 9pm.
