Waterloo Appoints Interim School Superintendent

Waterloo has a new interim school superintendent.

Robert Banzer has been hired for the rest of the school year.  Banzer, retired last month after eight years as superintendent of the Northport- East Northport Union Free School District in Suffolk County, Long Island.

A formal search for a permanent superintendent is underway. The school board plans to have a permanent superintendent in place by July 1st.

The appointment follows the retirement of Terri Bavis, who had been the superintendent since 2016.  Mike Midey of Seneca Falls served as the acting superintendent until December 31st.
