Victor Outlines Transition Plan Following Dissolution of Fishers Fire District

With the Fishers Professional Fire District formally dissolved this week, the Town of Victor has released early details of how fire protection will be handled moving forward.

A Transition Task Force has been created with town officials, legal and HR representatives, and area fire departments. The group will meet monthly to address concerns from agencies and residents, monitor response times and call volumes, and develop both short- and long-term coverage plans.

Town officials say formal agreements have been secured with nearby fire and EMS providers to ensure there is no lapse in emergency coverage. Depending on location, responses may come from:

  • Victor Farmington Ambulance
  • Victor Fire District
  • Fishers Volunteer Firefighters Association
  • Bushnell’s Basin Fire Department
  • Henrietta Fire District
  • Farmington Volunteer Fire Department
  • Ontario County Emergency Management (major incident support)

The draft plan also calls for the creation of new fire districts to clearly define coverage areas. You can view the entire plan below:
