Victor Man Passes Away After Being Involved in Accident

A Victor man has passed away from injuries he suffered in a motor vehicle crash on Halloween.

It is alleged that Ronald Schanche failed to yield the right of way to another vehicle after pulling onto State Route 488 from Freshour Road in the town of Hopewell at around 3:30 p.m. Schanche’s car was struck on the driver’s side door by the Jeep Wrangler.

The 84-year-old and the driver of the Jeep, Tara Curia, of Newark, were taken to Strong for evaluation. Schanche passed away on Friday from medical complications.

The Town of Hopewell Fire Department assisted at the scene.
