Police have identified the victim in last Thursday’s fatal motorcycle accident in Wayne County.

It is alleged that the operator of the motorcycle, who has not yet been identified, drove up on a West Union Street sidewalk in Newark and lost control after they attempted to re-enter the road. The passenger, 36-year-old Keley Smith-Krocke, of Marion, was thrown from the motorcycle and later died at Newark-Wayne Hospital.

The driver was taken to Strong with non-life-threatening injuries.

The investigation is ongoing.
