UPDATE: Victim Killed by Fallen Tree in Ontario County Identified

UPDATE:

On August 14, 2024, at approximately 2:37 p.m., troopers from the New York State Police Canandaigua station responded to an incident on Willis Hill Road in the town of Victor, where a tree had fallen on a man.

Upon arrival, troopers discovered that 68-year-old Richard King had been fatally injured while operating a tractor. Initial investigations indicate that King was clearing brush when a tree struck him, resulting in his death. The Ontario County Coroner was called to the scene.

The New York State Police were assisted by the Victor Farmington Ambulance and Fire Department.

The investigation is ongoing.

State Police say the incident happened just off Willis Hill Road in Victor at around 2:30 Wednesday afternoon. The unidentified 68-year-old victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

The investigation is ongoing.
