We have an update on the Ontario County Sheriff’s Deputy who was seriously injured in a two-car crash last Monday night on Routes 5 and 20 in Hopewell.

Ontario County Sheriff David Cirencione tells us Deputy Molly Turnbull is out of intensive care and continues to recover in Strong Memorial Hospital. The sheriff said Deputy Turnbull’s internal injuries have been addressed with surgery and now she has started to work on her orthopedic injuries.

The driver of the other vehicle involved, 35-year-old Ponell Kittles, of Canandaigua, suffered a leg injury and is listed in satisfactory condition.

Deputy Turnbull was responding to assist a State Trooper with a resisting arrest call when her westbound patrol car collided with Kittles eastbound SUV. The accident remains under investigation.
