The City of Canandaigua Department of Public Works is pleased to inform residents and businesses that the Boil Water Notice was officially lifted just after 10 o’clock this morning.

Laboratory testing has confirmed that the water supply is safe for consumption and all other uses. Residents may now resume normal water use, including drinking, cooking, and food preparation.

A water main break on Tuesday afternoon disrupted service in Canandaigua. The break, which caused a loss of water pressure throughout parts of the city, was repaired Tuesday evening. However, because the system was depressurized, officials said there was a potential for microbiological contamination.
