Damage to the front of a silver car, including a shattered headlight and crumpled fender, following an accident in the Finger Lakes region.

Another two-car crash occurred this morning at the intersection of Emerson Road and County Road 28 in the Town of Canandaigua — the second at that location in less than a week.

According to deputies, a pickup truck towing a trailer was headed west on Emerson Road and stopped at the stop sign. As the driver, Georgi Mamaladze, of Palmyra, NJ, proceeded through the intersection, the truck was struck by a northbound sedan on County Road 28. Two people in the sedan, Mariah McCauley and Daniella McCauley, both of Shortsville, were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Mamaladze was not hurt but was ticketed for failure to yield.

The crash comes just days after a Rochester woman died from injuries sustained in a separate accident at the same intersection. In that case, investigators say she failed to stop at the stop sign and was hit by a pickup truck.
