Troopers Investigating Fatal Sodus Car Crash

State Police are investigating a fatal motor vehicle accident that occurred in the Town of Sodus on Tuesday.

Troopers report responding to State Route 104 at around 1:45p where an investigation revealed that 28-year-old Cory Mayo of Sodus was travelling north on South Geneva Road in his Chevy Silverado with his passenger, 51-year-old Clifford Mayo, when he failed to yield at the intersection of 104. This caused him to strike a Chevy HHR being driven by 63-year-old Calvin Grant of Williamson who was heading east on SR 104.

Grant had two passengers with him – 58-year-old Carol Bruni of Sodus and 62-year-old Velma Frank of Wolcott.

Frank and the elder Mayo were treated at the scene while Cory Mayo and Bruni were taken to Strong Memorial Hospital for minor injuries. Grant was pronounced dead at the scene.
