The Town of Geneva is partnering with Blueprint Geneva and Growing Cycle LLC to expand composting.

Town Supervisor Mark Venuti explained the program to Finger Lakes News Radio, saying “[after receiving a bucket from Growing Cycle LLC] you can put your food waste in it, put it out on the porch once a week, and they’ll come and pick it up. They take it to the vermiculture place down on Doran Avenue and the city turns it into compost.”

Venuti hopes this initiative will increase composting amongst those who can’t drive to the transfer station.

Funding comes from a US Department of Agriculture grant.
