A boating accident on Canandaigua Lake Friday afternoon left one man hospitalized after a vessel capsized near Gorham.

When Ontario County sheriff’s deputies arrived on scene they found that two of the three men onboard had reached the shore safely, while the third was clinging to the overturned boat approximately 200 yards from land. He was rescued and brought to safety.

Authorities say all three individuals were employees of Canandaigua Boatworks and were conducting a test run following mechanical repairs when the boat struck what is believed to be a submerged log, causing it to overturn.

One man was transported to F.F. Thompson Hospital for possible hypothermia.
