Waterloo village officials have submitted a list of 13 projects that total almost $16 million dollars.

State officials will need to select which projects fit the village’s Downtown Revitalization Initiative grant awarded earlier this year.

The DRI grant is for $10-million dollars.

Here are the projects selected:

  • Renovate the American Legion and enhance the entrance to the historic district.
  • Renovate 39 W. Main St. into a multi-functional building.
  •  Unlock the third floor of 10 W. Main St. and improve its facade.
  •  Renovate the Street of Shops on the north side of East Main Street and achieve full building occupancy.
  • Build the Grange Hall Food and Entertainment Hub on Virginia Street.
  • Rehabilitate 1 W. Main St. into four new apartments.
  • Expand the Waterloo Library and Historical Society at 31 E. William St. and integrate the museum collections.
  • Expand and enhance the Waterloo Community Center at 3 Oak St.
  • Continue the Main Street public realm improvements
  • Establish a multi-modal hub and gathering place on the southwest block of downtown.
  • Improve the connection between Oak Island and Main Street.
  • Establish a small project grant fund to continue downtown revitalization.
  • Redevelop the Village Hall at 41 W. Main St. for housing and a new municipal building
