A Seneca Falls man will spend time in prison for killing a woman’s dog in Cayuga County.

Brandon Carlson was sentenced to two years in prison by Judge Jon Budelmann on Tuesday. Carlson pleaded guilty in November to physically beating a dog, causing it head trauma, which led to its death.

During the November 2023 incident, Carlson moved the body of the dog to a roadway in the town of Springport in an attempt to make it appear as if the animal had been struck and killed by a car.
