The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office welcomed two new deputies during a recent swearing-in ceremony at the Law Enforcement Center in Romulus.

Deputy Sheriff Andrew Mateo and Deputy Sheriff Colton Rice were officially sworn into their roles in front of family and fellow law enforcement members. Both are currently attending the Basic Course for Police Officers at the Southern Tier Law Enforcement Academy. They bring valuable experience from working within the Seneca County Correctional Facility as they transition into their new roles.

Sheriff Thompson said, “I want to welcome our two newest Deputies to our team. We are very proud of them and look forward to their future successes with the Seneca County Sheriff’s Office.”
