Senator Helming Secures Funding for 11 Local Libraries

11 libraries in Ontario and Wayne counties have been allocated funding under the state’s Public Library Construction Aid program. The funding was announced Wednesday by State Senator Pamela Helming, who co-sponsored a law that expanded funding opportunities for small and rural libraries under the Library Construction Aid Program.

The libraries are:
  • Avon Free Library, Livingston County: $263,063
  • Geneva Public Library, Ontario County: $116,055
  • Clifton Springs Library,  Ontario County: $68,456
  • Wood Library Association, Ontario County: $103,368
  • Phelps Library, Ontario County: $64,261
  • Victor Farmington Library, Ontario County: $144,913
  • Bloomfield Public Library, Ontario County: $51,630
  • Naples Library, Ontario County: $29,660
  • Macedon Public Library, Wayne County: $5,083
  • Williamson Public Library, Wayne County: $34,013
  • Clyde-Savannah Public Library, Wayne County: $6,591

“Our local libraries are the heart of our communities, providing free access to knowledge, technology, and resources that empower individuals and families,” said Senator Helming. “This state funding supports capital and infrastructure projects that keep our libraries vibrant and accessible, ensuring that all residents, regardless of income or background, have the tools they need to succeed.”
