Scooter Operator Hit By a Car in Canandaigua

A person riding a scooter was struck by a car on North Main Street in the area of Camelot Drive in the city of Canandaigua Friday.

The accident happened just after 12 p.m. when a car pulled out of a side street and struck the scooter, which was traveling northbound against the southbound traffic. The individual struck was airlifted by Mercy Flight to Strong Memorial Hospital for a head injury and possible broken bones.

The driver of the car was not ticketed as police determined the scooter operator to be at fault.

The identities of the individuals involved were not released.
