Cheshire Fire responded to a report of a capsized sailboat on Canandaigua Lake, successfully rescuing the boat’s owner without injury.

Cheshire Marine 4 arrived on the scene and coordinated with an Ontario County Sheriff’s deputy who had already made contact with the caller. The combined efforts of emergency responders and a quick-thinking bystander helped locate and safely return the individual to shore.

Authorities say the sailor was wearing a personal flotation device and was unharmed. No further injuries were reported.
