RV Fire Causes Minor Damage to Interlaken Library and Nearby Business

The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office says deputies and firefighters responded to a vehicle fire in the Village of Interlaken Friday morning.

Deputies were called to a local business around 8:20 a.m. for reports of a fully engulfed vehicle. Responding fire crews found a 1982 Chevy RV on fire in a parking area on the south side of the business.

The RV was heavily damaged and declared a total loss. The business and the nearby Interlaken Library both sustained minor cosmetic damage, but no injuries were reported. The total cost of damages has not yet been determined.  The li brary is closed for today

The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Interlaken, Ovid, and Trumansburg fire departments, the Seneca County Fire Investigation Team, and Interlaken Police.
