Contract talks have hit a snag between the town of Seneca Falls and its new Civil Service Employees Association.

Town Supervisor Frank Schmitter told the Finger Lakes Times the union has declared an impasse, and the state Public Employment Relations Board has been asked to step in.

If the board confirms the impasse, a mediator will be assigned to help both sides reach an agreement.
