Portion of State Route 5 in Bloomfield Closed

An orange and white traffic cone stands on an asphalt road, indicating a work zone.
A traffic cone marks a road construction area, a common sight in the Finger Lakes region during road work season.

State Route 5 in Bloomfield will be closed beginning at 6:30 a.m. for a culvert replacement project.

A posted detour will direct eastbound traffic via Oakmount Road and Gauss Road, while westbound drivers will be redirected to Maple Street and Main Street. The project will take about three weeks, depending on weather conditions.

Motorists are reminded to slow down and drive safely in work zones, as fines for speeding are doubled in these areas. Accumulating two or more speeding violations in a work zone can lead to the suspension of your driver’s license. Please prioritize safety for everyone on the road.
