Phelps is gearing up for a unique celebration blending local flavors and storytelling at the upcoming Moose Fest on Friday, December 1st.

Hosted at the Smokin’ Tails Distillery, the event is a collaboration between the distillery’s owner and master distiller, Pete Cheney, and John Sherwood, the author of “Charlie-The Merry Christmoose.”

The festival, set to run from 4 to 7 p.m., invites the community to experience a special moonshine tasting and a book signing, making it a perfect start to the holiday season.

The highlight of the festival is the “Mooseknuckle Moonshine” tasting, showcasing a range of flavors like Salted Caramel, Apple Pie, and Chocolate Cherry Bon Bon, crafted by Pete Cheney.

Cheney, a Phelps native, gained fame after winning the title of Master Distiller on the Discovery Channel’s Moonshiners show.
