Phelps House Heavily Damaged by Fire

13 fire companies were called to battle an Ontario County house fire Tuesday night.

When firefighters arrived on the scene at 1878 Falkey Road in Phelps, the house was fully engulfed. The damage was so significant that the American Red Cross responded and assisted the occupant with temporary housing.

The cause is currently under investigation by the Ontario County Fire Coordinator’s Office.

Responding fire departments included Phelps, Oaks Corners, Clifton Springs, Newark, Fairville, Geneva, East Palmyra, Junius, Port Gibson, Hopewell, Manchester, Northside, and Seneca Castle.
