Seneca Falls police say a pedestrian was injured Thursday evening after being struck by a vehicle at the intersection of State Route 5 and Heath Street.

It happened around 5:35 p.m. Police say a westbound driver failed to yield to a pedestrian who was legally crossing in the crosswalk. The pedestrian was evaluated at the scene by North Seneca Ambulance and taken to the hospital for treatment.

The driver was issued a traffic ticket for failing to yield the right of way to a pedestrian in a crosswalk and is due in Seneca Falls Town Court at a later date.

Seneca Falls Police were assisted at the scene by the Seneca Falls Fire Department and North Seneca Ambulance.
