A local high school went into lockdown Thursday afternoon after a student reported hearing what sounded like gunshots.

Parents of students at Pal-Mac received an alert from the district that said law enforcement was on campus. The middle school, next to the high school, was put in a hold-in-place. A search of the school turned up no evidence of gunshots fired and the restrictions were eventually lifted.

The school district has made counselors available today for any student or staff member impacted by Thursday’s events.
