An Ontario County man convicted of murdering his three children by setting his home on fire has been released from prison.

It was December 1995 when Mark Mastin set fire to his family’s home in Hopewell, killing his young children — ages 3, 5, and 6.  The kids were trapped inside the home.

Prosecutors say he was mad at his wife when he intentionally set the fire at his home by tossing a cigarette into some papers.

Maston was released on parole on October 1st.  Mastin, who was 26 years old at the time of the fire,  was found guilty of murder and arson.

His wife, Lisa Mastin suffered burns but survived the fire.
