An Ontario County Sheriff’s Deputy suffered a minor hand injury after being involved in a two-car crash in Gorham Thursday.

Deputy Tatiana Sosnowsky was in the back of a northbound car on State Route 247 that began to fishtail due to the blowing and drifting snow. The deputy’s car also started to fishtail and made contact with the rear of the vehicle in front of her. The impact sent both cars into the drifts on the east side of the road near 3731 State Route 247.

The driver of the other car,   Pauline Rice, of Massachusetts, was taken to Thompson Hospital for treatment of back pain.

The road was closed for about an hour and a half to allow for crews to clear and remove the snow. The Gorham Highway Department, State Department of Transportation and New York State Police assisted the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office at the scene.

The accident remains under investigation.
