The third day of mediation between the New York State Correctional Officers and Police Benevolent Association (NYSCOPBA) and the State concluded at midnight last night, as negotiations continue amid an ongoing labor dispute.
Late this morning, NYSCOPBA leadership is set to meet with State representatives, with expectations that the State will present a formal offer addressing the demands of those who have refused to work during the dispute, including COs at Auburn, Cayuga, and Five Points. However, details regarding any potential concessions or which demands may be met remain undisclosed at this time.
If the State does present an offer today, it will then be brought before the remaining members still refusing to work for consideration. The outcome of these discussions could mark a significant turning point in the ongoing labor standoff.
NYSCOPBA spokesperson James Miller said further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
