No Weapons, Drugs Found Following Search of Seneca County Correctional Facility

The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office conducted a full search of the male housing unit within the correctional facility on Wednesday.

Corrections Officers, sheriff’s deputies, and investigators were joined by K-9 units from Seneca and Yates Counties to perform a sweep of the facility in search of contraband. As a result of the search, no illegal drugs or weapons were found.

Following the search, Sheriff Tim Thompson released the following statement:

“It is imperative that we keep the Seneca County Correctional Facility free of contraband for the safety of our members and incarcerated individuals. Our Correction Officers do a great job each and every day to accomplish this mission. Today’s operation was a testament to their dedicated work. These types of searches will continue to be done regularly and at random to ensure everyone’s safety.”
