The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office says everyone made it out safely after a house fire late Friday night in the Town of Phelps.

Deputies responded around 11:35 p.m. to a home on Bankert Road, where the residence was already filled with smoke. Investigators say the fire appeared to have started in a room on the northeast side of the house.

Clifton Springs, Phelps, and Manchester fire crews worked together to bring the flames under control. Finger Lakes Ambulance checked over the residents at the scene, but no injuries were reported.

The Red Cross is assisting the displaced occupants with temporary housing. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
