Residents of one Wayne County village are happy with the results of a recently completed culvert replacement project. Newark Mayor Jonathan Taylor said one resident who lives in the immediate area of the Blue Cut Road project expressed their appreciation for the job done at this week’s village board meeting.

“The village was able to gain a $1 million Community Development Block Grant to replace the culvert, which was completed this past summer, early fall,” said Mayor Taylor. “It was a good project. The road is open now and the culvert is much wider now, allowing for safe vehicular and pedestrian traffic.”

Taylor said as part of the village getting the $1 million Community Development Block Grant, the public hearing on the completed project that took place at the last board meeting was required to be held.
