Fire and EMS protection in the Victor area is set to change after the Fishers Fire District officially dissolves on October 1.

The Victor Town Board this week released a draft coverage map showing an expansion of the Victor Fire District’s range. In addition, the town is signing individual fire protection agreements with five neighboring emergency response agencies:

  • Bushnell’s Basin Fire Department
  • Henrietta Fire District
  • Farmington Volunteer Fire Association
  • Fishers Volunteer Fire Association
  • Victor-Farmington Ambulance

The Fishers Fire District Board of Fire Commissioners voted unanimously on August 18 to approve the dissolution, citing concerns about future financial instability.

Town Supervisor Jack Marren said the new, regional approach will provide a more connected and flexible emergency response system for the area. The town will hold another public meeting on Monday at 6 p.m. to finalize coverage plans.
