On Tuesday, at the Seneca Falls Town Board meeting, Officer Matthew Mix with the Seneca Falls Police Department was presented with the Police Officer of the Year Award. At the same meeting, Officer Humberto Flores was awarded the Honorary Officer of the Year Award. Both were recipients of these prestigious awards for their extraordinary actions of leading a victim to safety from their burning home.

A rare Civilian Life Saving Award was also presented during the meeting. Tyler Alton, an Amazon delivery driver, was recognized for his bravery and quick actions which resulted in two local residents being assisted, by him, out of their house fire.
