Midlakes High School and the Phelps Clifton Springs School District have announced the Valedictorian and Salutatorian for the Class of 2025.

Valedictorian Matthew Cannan, son of Scott and Melissa Cannan, plans to attend college at SUNY Oswego for adolescent education with a focus on history in hopes of becoming a high school history teacher. Matt has participated in numerous extracurricular activities, including jazz band and vocal jazz. He has been selected for both All-State and All-County bands multiple times. Outside of music, Matt served as the captain of the Masterminds team and as the French Club President, is a member of NHS, and became an Eagle Scout in December 2023.

Salutatorian Jackson Alamond, son of David Alamond and Melissa Murphy, has decided to attend college at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute for a dual major in civil and Environmental Engineering. During his years at Midlakes High School, Jackson did not participate in many sports or clubs, but instead chose to focus on his academics. He has participated in a few forms of volunteer work, and outside of school, he prefers to spend the majority of his time on his hobbies.
