Meeting Tonight To Discuss Route 96 Bridge

A red pickup truck drives across a rusty green overpass on a clear day, with a road visible underneath.
A red pickup truck crosses the Route 96 bridge, which is the subject of a community meeting tonight.

A plan, now under discussion, would eliminate the bridge that carries Route 96 over Route 14 and make it into an “at-grade” intersection.

The Genesee Regional Transportation Council is hosting a meeting tonight to discuss the idea. The bridge deck is in bad shape, and major structural repairs need to be made.

The current study will compare the life-cycle costs of repairing the bridge versus a normal intersection.

Tonight’s public meeting begins at 5 at Phelps Community Center.
