Lyons Man Airlifted After Being Struck By Car

A Lyons man was airlifted to Strong after being struck by a car in Wayne County.

Police say a car was northbound on Geneva Street in Lyons at around 10 Friday night when it struck a pedestrian who had entered the roadway. 30-year-old Dimitri McKinney was initially taken to Newark-Wayne Hospital before being airlifted to Rochester by Mercy Flight.

There has been no update on his condition and the driver who struck McKinney was not identified.

Deputies were assisted on scene by the New York state Police, Wayne County EMS, Lyons Town Fire Department, Mercy flight and the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office Crash Team.
