Fingerlakes communities are receiving a share of the $435 million in state funds announced for local water infrastructure improvements.
The Environmental Facilities Corporation has awarded funding to 102 municipalities across the state to improve their water infrastructure. Through this funding, the state hopes to empower local communities to make necessary repairs and upgrades to their water systems, ensuring all New Yorkers have access to safe and clean drinking water.
“New York is committed to funding water infrastructure upgrades because every person has a right to clean water,” Governor Hochul said. “With this funding for communities across the State, we are providing critical resources to local economies, creating jobs and safeguarding the health and well-being of all New Yorkers.”

Cayuga

Seneca
- Seneca County: $10,000,000 for Sewer District No 2 Five Points WWTP Improvements Project
Steuben
- Bath: $1,247,790 for Lake Salubria and Kanona Collections System
- Canisteo: $1,097,750 forCanisteo Disinfection System and Wastewater Treatment Plant Improvements
- Erwin: $955,127 for Morningside Heights System Well #7 Improvements
Tompkins
- Newfield: $4,271,851 for Newfield Drinking Water Source Supply
Wayne
- Clyde: $1,526,400 for Water Treatment Plant Improvements
