LGBTQ+ supporters hold signs during a Geneva City Council meeting in upstate New York, calling out a city councilor over social media posts.

It was a short agenda, but a long meeting last night for the Geneva City Council.  30-people addressed the council , many supporting the city’s LGBTQ community. The standing room only crowd chanting as they entered the council’s meeting room.

The group organized by the Geneva Women’s Assembly spoke out against City Councilor Bill Pealer and his recent anti-LGBTQ posts on social media.  Pealer did not acknowledge the group when he spoke.  Several councilors did address those in attendance, like Ward 5 City Councilor Laura Salamendra-

The council took no action related to the public comments.
