The League of Women Voters has canceled this month’s candidates’ forum for Geneva’s Ontario County Board of Supervisors seats. The organization told the Finger Lakes Times the Republican-endorsed candidates — Sean Legg, James Babb, and Joseph Adulte — declined to participate, leaving the forum unable to proceed.

Democratic candidates James Kennedy, Jan Regan, and Esther Dickinson had accepted the invitation. League officials say the forum provides a non-partisan opportunity for voters to hear directly from all candidates. City Democratic leaders criticized the GOP candidates for skipping the event, saying it denies voters transparency.

Voters can still meet Democratic candidates at a community event on Thursday, October 16, at the Linden Social Club.
