Some good news from the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office regarding the deputy sheriff and Canandaigua man involved in a collision that happened on Routes 5 and 20 in Hopewell earlier this month.

Sheriff David Cirencione on Monday said Ponell Kittles and Deputy Molly Turnbull have been released from Strong Memorial Hospital where both have been since the December 9th accident. Deputy Turnbull suffered internal injuries and underwent emergency surgery while Kittles suffered a leg injury.

Deputy Turnbull was responding to assist a State Trooper with a resisting arrest call when her westbound patrol car collided with Kittles eastbound SUV. The accident remains under investigation.
