Human skeletal remains were found in the town of Victor Tuesday night.

The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office reports the remains were found near Mud Creek, in the area of McMahon Road. Investigators and evidence technicians were on scene this morning collecting evidence and documenting the scene. The remains have been extracted and taken to the Monroe County Medical Examiner’s Office to be identified.

Sheriff David Cirencione said more information will be released once an identity is known.
