The Bills Mafia lost a beloved member on Thursday, as superfan Eddie Mayerik passed away at age 8 after battling a congenital heart defect.

Eddie’s father Nick Mayerik is Certified Fitness Coach who has posted on Twitter about his son’s heart defect and multiple operations.

Geneva Police officers, including Acting Chief of Police Matthew Colton, gathered Friday to remember Eddie and support his family and Buffalo Bills fans who have followed the young boy’s story on social media.

The Geneva Police officers, many who have young children of their own, never met the young boy that inspired legions of Buffalo Bills fans known as “Eddie’s Infantry.”
