Geneva Police Hold Sobriety Checkpoint Over the 4th Holiday

News Release –

On Friday, July 11th, 2025, the City of Geneva Police Department conducted a sobriety checkpoint on Lakefront Drive between Lake Street and the entrance to the Seneca Lake State Park. This was a multi-agency detail which included New York State Police, Seneca County Sheriff’s Office and the Ontario County Stop DWI program coordinator.

The detail ran from 7:00pm until 12:00am. A total of 1,068 vehicles were screened and provided with an educational pamphlet. A total of 13 drivers were placed through Standardized Field Sobriety Tests and deemed safe to operate a motor vehicle and were further educated about the effects of alcohol. There was one DWI arrest made during this event.
