Ontario County Sheriff’s deputies say four people were injured in a two-car crash at the intersection of County Road 6 and County Road 23 in Phelps on Sunday.

According to investigators, Michelle Howe was driving a 2019 Toyota Corolla west on Cross Road when she failed to yield at a stop sign and collided with a southbound 2022 Jeep Cherokee operated by Regina Ware. Both drivers had one passenger in their vehicles at the time.

The Oaks Corners Fire Department extricated all four occupants from the wreckage. One passenger was flown by Mercy Flight Central to Strong Memorial Hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The remaining three were taken by ambulance to Strong Memorial Hospital.

Deputies cited Howe for failing to yield at the stop sign.

In addition to Oaks Corners firefighters, New York State Police, Phelps Ambulance, Finger Lakes Ambulance, and North Seneca Ambulance also responded to the scene.
